The Sudbury Community Arena, open since 1951, seats about 4,640 (5,100 standing) and is home to the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League and the Sudbury Five of the Basketball Super League, in the downtown core.
The Sleeman Centre at 50 Woolwich Street is a roughly 5,000-capacity downtown arena, home of the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, carrying the city's arena concerts and major-junior hockey.
ArcelorMittal Dofasco still employs more than 5,000 people in Hamilton, ships about 4.5 million tons of steel a year, and remains the city's largest private-sector employer. Stelco, the other historic Hamilton steelmaker, keeps its head office and coke-oven/finishing operations in the city (about 750 employees) after Cleveland-Cliffs completed its acquisition of the company in November 2024; Stelco's primary steelmaking (blast furnace) now runs through its Lake Erie Works in Nanticoke, not Hamilton itself, where the Hamilton plant has not produced primary steel since 2011.
