Venue and logistics notes
Raleigh Convention Center, downtown. 150,000 square feet of exhibit space across three halls means a registration line and a floor crew both need to be staffed at conference scale, not trade-show-lite. Stage crews before the morning badge rush; downtown parking runs thin during Hopscotch and All Things Open week.
Lenovo Center and Carter-Finley, west side. The athletic department books both venues on its own release schedule, months before a downtown conference date is ever set. When a home game and a Lenovo Center concert land the same Saturday, gate and parking crews work two separate credentialed lots a few hundred yards apart, pulled from the same standby list a downtown order drew from that week.
Red Hat Amphitheater, mid-relocation. 2026 is the venue's last season at its current McDowell Street site before it moves one block south for the Convention Center's expansion. Crews should staff to the current footprint through 2026, not the 2027 layout.
The Research Triangle Park corridor. Corporate clients here are often 20 to 30 minutes from downtown by I-40. A crew booked for a downtown morning and an RTP evening event needs the drive built into the call sheet, not assumed away.

In North Carolina, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and North Carolina Workers' Compensation Act (N.C. Gen. Stat. Ch. 97).
