The All American Speedway shares the property, and in late June the whole campus becomes the Placer County Fair, June 25 to 28 in 2026, four days, livestock shows, carnival rides, and more than 20,000 visitors on an 88-year-old tradition.
Three miles southwest, the civic calendar runs on Vernon Street. Downtown Tuesday Nights, produced by the Downtown Roseville Partnership with the city behind it, closes the street every Tuesday from early June through late July for live bands, a classic car show, vendor rows, a kids zone, and a beer garden, with organizers reporting three to five thousand people a night. Daily overtime rules the open-to-finals day.
In California, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and California workers' compensation law (Labor Code §3700). Labor Code §510 makes overtime a daily calculation in California, time-and-a-half once the eighth hour ends and double time after the twelfth, and nowhere does it bite harder than a tournament Saturday: the crew that opens the Roebbelen Center's twelve courts before the first 8 a.m. tip and strikes after the last evening final crosses the daily line without ever leaving one building. The §2775 ABC test is why every one of them is W-2.
