Methodology
Transaction data: actual client billing records across event staffing engagements. Job titles normalized into standardized role categories. Specialty roles (production techs, entertainment tech, warehouse labor) excluded from core event staffing analysis. Role rates are market-level averages weighted by each market's shift volume, matching the per-market data published in Section 4.
Billable hours: reported per market. 155 of 233 market records have no hours total in this dataset; totals reflect available data only.
Rate benchmark: TempGuru's June 2026 all-inclusive planning matrix via the TempGuru pricing API, last updated 2026-05-21. Verified against the live API on 2026-06-04 for three spot-check pairs, all matched. The matching city guide and written quote control current local rates.
Limitations
This is TempGuru's own billing data. It is not a survey of competitor rates, gig marketplace prices, or a cross-industry benchmark.
Some transaction rates fall below the June 2026 planning benchmark, reflecting legacy contracts or client-specific pricing that pre-dates that rate structure.
Hours data is incomplete. 155 of 233 market records, including some high-volume markets, have no hours total. The 82,651 figure understates actual total volume.
For Canadian orders, workers are employed locally by the assigned partner agency under applicable Canadian employment and payroll rules, and rates bill in CAD at USD parity. W-2 employment applies only to US orders. These rates do not reflect an independent Canadian market analysis. Minimum wage data is as of June 2026.
