Missouri Event Staffing

The Show-Me State Edition
Event Staffing

Missouri has two Tier-1 markets on opposite ends of the state — St. Louis and Kansas City — that operate as a single staffing contract. One Anheuser-Busch corporate event in St. Louis and a Chiefs game-day activation in Kansas City can run the same week. TempGuru handles both from one invoice.

Missouri Employment Compliance

Missouri's minimum wage is $15.00/hr statewide as of 2026. Missouri law prohibits cities and counties from setting higher local rates — the $15.00 applies uniformly across St. Louis, Kansas City, and all Missouri markets. Tipped employees are entitled to at least $7.50/hr from the employer, but TempGuru W-2 classification means all staff receive the full $15.00 minimum. Missouri Responsible Vendor Program compliance governs all alcohol service.

From Megan

Founder's notes on staffing Missouri.

Megan Hayward

The Show-Me State shows you two completely different event cultures depending on which side of I-70 you're on. St. Louis is corporate and traditional — Cardinals season, Anheuser-Busch events, and the Gateway Arch as a backdrop for national events. Kansas City is passionate and loud — Arrowhead is the loudest stadium in the NFL, and Chiefs Kingdom means game-day activations run at a decibel level most brand ambassadors aren't prepared for. Our crews are. The other thing that makes Missouri efficient is simple geography: two Tier-1 markets in one state means one contract covers a serious piece of the Midwest event market. Clients running regional tours or multi-city activations find Missouri's dual-market structure genuinely useful.
