The Convention Center waterfront is the anchor: the exhibit halls, the Long Beach Arena, and the Terrace Theater sit in one complex at the foot of downtown. A short walk west, the Queen Mary and cruise terminal share a dock, so an embarkation day and a convention floor day can compete for the same loading curb. Further west along the same channel, the Port of Long Beach runs one of the country's busiest container operations; TempGuru does not staff the port's own union longshore jobs, but its truck traffic on the harbor-area streets is a routing fact every waterfront crew has to work around. East along the coast, Belmont Shore carries outdoor festivals and beach-adjacent corporate events, and Signal Hill, the small elevated enclave just north of downtown, adds civic and corporate bookings away from the water.

Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. More than 400,000 square feet across three combinable halls, the Arena, and the Terrace Theater. Size crew to the specific hall booked, not the building's full footprint, and confirm whether the Grand Prix's street-circuit build is up around the venue that week.
Queen Mary and cruise terminal. Docked immediately west of the convention center. A cruise embarkation or disembarkation day changes traffic and parking on the same block a convention crew is working, so check the port's ship schedule before setting call times.
Port of Long Beach. A working harbor a few miles down the channel. Not a TempGuru booking itself, but its truck traffic on Ocean Boulevard and the harbor-area streets is a genuine routing fact for any crew moving between downtown and the water.

California's clock runs by the day, not just the week.
In California, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and California Labor Code Division 4 (Workers' Compensation and Insurance), Labor Code §3700 (mandatory employer coverage). California requires overtime after 8 hours in a single workday, not only after 40 hours in a week, double time after 12 hours in one day, and overtime on a worker's seventh consecutive day in a workweek, under Labor Code §510 — a materially different clock than the plain 40-hour standard most states use for long load-in and show days.
