07The Fine Print
The wage floor froze in 2010. Gamedays did not.
In Kansas, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and Kansas Workers Compensation Act (K.S.A. Chapter 44, Article 5).
