02The Map

The core is tight and walkable. DeVos Place runs the conventions and trade shows from the east bank of the Grand River, and its DeVos Performance Hall carries the Broadway and symphony nights on the same block. Two minutes south, Van Andel Arena holds the Griffins, concerts, and family shows, tied to the convention center by the Grand River Promenade skywalk. A trade show, an arena night, and a gallery opening can share one downtown weekend inside a few blocks.
Past the core the map opens along the river. Monroe North runs up the east bank with its social district and taprooms, and across the water the West Side and its Bridge Street corridor pack breweries and distilleries beside the new Acrisure Amphitheater, a 12,000-seat riverfront room that opened this year. Venue and logistics notes
DeVos Place, on the east bank. The convention center and its 162,000-square-foot exhibit hall sit on the Grand River, with DeVos Performance Hall attached on the south end. Freight comes in off the downtown dock, so stage the build early and set call times to the hall, not the street.
Van Andel Arena. The downtown arena runs Griffins hockey, concerts, and family shows two minutes south of the convention center. Event-day gate credentials and street closures buy a check-in cushion, so badge crew inside and park off the closed blocks.
The brewery corridors. Monroe North on the east bank and Bridge Street on the West Side pack the taprooms, and the festival crowd wants pour stations, wristband and ID checks, and a clean glassware run. Night work at a Beer City tempo.
