North of downtown, Extraco Events Center spans 50 acres with a coliseum that seats 6,000 for rodeo and up to 9,000 for concerts, plus a separate Show Pavilion, exhibits building, and stall barn, a genuinely different, multi-building fairgrounds booking.

Texas leaves workers' comp optional. A packed Silos weekend is no place to learn that the hard way.
In Texas, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and Texas workers' compensation law (Texas Labor Code, Title 5).
