02The Map
The river decides which crew you get.
The west bank is Shreveport proper: the Convention Center's 350,000 square feet on Caddo Street, Festival Plaza and the Mudbug Madness footprint on the riverfront, the 1929 Municipal Auditorium where Elvis debuted on the Louisiana Hayride in 1954, and the Bally's and Sam's Town casinos, the latter mid-sale to Bally's with a close expected in late 2026. The east bank is Bossier City: Brookshire Grocery Arena, the Louisiana Boardwalk, and the thicker half of the casino cluster, Margaritaville, Horseshoe, Boomtown, and Live!, the 2025-built land-based house, with the Louisiana Downs racetrack casino beyond and gated Barksdale Air Force Base past that.
Between them run the I-20 and Texas Street bridges. On an ordinary Tuesday the crossing is minutes; on a fair Saturday or an arena night it is the bottleneck. So orders that touch both banks get crews assigned per bank rather than shuttled, and the fairgrounds district southwest of downtown, where the State Fair's 14 days and Independence Stadium's bowl night land, gets treated as its own third zone with its own call times.

Venue and logistics notes
Shreveport Convention Center, Caddo Street. Legends Global manages 350,000 square feet a short walk from the west-bank casino hotels. Citywide programs spill delegate traffic across both banks, but the freight and floor crews stay on this one.
Brookshire Grocery Arena, Bossier City. The renamed CenturyLink Center draws arena-scale tours (Jason Aldean, August 27, 2026). Show-night crews stage on the east bank ahead of bridge traffic, not behind it.
Municipal Auditorium. A 1929 National Historic Landmark with the load-in quirks of one: tight docks, protected interiors, and touring productions through December 2026 that need house staff who respect the building.
The fairgrounds and Independence Stadium. The State Fair's Hudson Avenue campus and the 50,000-seat bowl stadium share a district and, in late fall, share traffic. Fair-day and bowl-week calls both budget the Hudson Avenue crawl.

Casino and resort events lead: high-volume, fast-turnaround banquets, entertainment nights, and promotions across seven gaming properties, staffed with non-gaming event roles that skip the permit queue. Conventions and trade shows fill the Legends-run Convention Center, and concerts split between Brookshire Grocery Arena's big rooms and the Municipal Auditorium's historic stage.
Fair and festival season means the State Fair's 14 operating days plus Mudbug Madness over Memorial Day weekend downtown. Sports peaks once a year with the Independence Bowl's national broadcast, backed by Louisiana Downs race days across the river.

Book early and you lock the crew and the rate. Shreveport's crunch is fall into early winter: the State Fair packs its entire demand into 14 operating days between October 29 and November 15, and the Independence Bowl lands December 22 with a national ESPN broadcast. Mudbug Madness owns Memorial Day weekend downtown, and the seven casino properties keep banquet and entertainment work rolling every other week of the year.

One rate per role on either bank of the Red.
Shreveport pricing is one flat, all-in figure per role, and the river does not split it: a Convention Center floor crew on the west bank and a casino banquet team in Bossier bill from the same card, W-2 payroll, Louisiana workers' comp, and liability already inside. Gaming-permit roles are the one thing we scope separately, and we tell you that up front instead of on the invoice.

07The Fine Print
Louisiana's comp statute does not care which bank you're on.
In Louisiana, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and Louisiana Workers' Compensation Law (La. R.S. 23:1021 et seq.).

Classification and payroll responsibility sits with that employing agency; your own obligations can still depend on how you direct the work and on applicable law.
