Iowa Employment Compliance
Iowa follows the federal $7.25/hr minimum wage with no state increase. The Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (ABD) oversees alcohol licensing and administers the I-PACT (Iowa Program for Alcohol Competency Training) certification, required for on-premise servers, bartenders, and managers. I-PACT certification is required for all staff serving alcohol at licensed Iowa establishments. The Iowa ABD issues special event licenses for events at non-licensed venues, and all serving staff at those events require current I-PACT certification.
