Rose Bowl Stadium, in the Arroyo Seco. 90,888 seats reached through a residential arroyo, so event-day access runs on shuttle lots and timed crew calls. Stadium concerts and UCLA Saturdays use the same footprint; flea-market Sundays flip it to a vendor-logistics operation before dawn.
Pasadena Convention Center and Civic Auditorium. Roughly 130,000 square feet with 25 meeting rooms next to a 3,000-seat 1932 auditorium, with 1,200 to 2,500 hotel rooms within walking distance. Conferences here can run exhibits, sessions, and a gala under adjacent roofs with one crew plan.
Caltech and Beckman Auditorium. The 1,136-seat hall runs a year-round public program, and June commencement, the 132nd was June 12, 2026, is a protocol event: guest services, faculty processions, and credentialing to a university's standard.

In California, the expensive shortcut is paying event staff as 1099 contractors: back taxes, penalties, and joint-employer liability under federal FLSA and California workers' compensation law (Labor Code §3700). Two California rules meet Pasadena's calendar head-on. Labor Code §510's daily meter, time-and-a-half past 8 hours in a workday and double time past 12, prices the overnight grandstand and float-viewing builds of parade week, where install crews work long nights against a fixed 8 a.m. step-off. And Pasadena's own minimum-wage ordinance covers any employee who works two or more hours a week inside the city, so even a single short event shift is on the city's floor, not the state's. The §2775 ABC test keeps all of it W-2.
